What are some fun things to do in Omaha, Nebraska?
Hi, I really haven't traveled much and I'm from Wisconsin. I may be traveling this summer to see the Olympic Trials in Omaha. While I'm there I want to do some other fun stuff but, I am not sure what to do. Thanks!

Omaha has quite a bit to do, along with that there are a number of activities within 40 miles of the city that might be worth the trip too. Southwest on I-80 near the Platte River is the Strategic Air and Space Museum, a nationally renowned aerospace museum. Mahoney State Park (which offers hiking trails, a big pool and a lodge restaurant) is also nearby. In Omaha proper the biggest thing people usually want to is go to the Henry Doorly Zoo. Its a great place to visit and takes a better part of a day to go through. The zoo offers the Lied Jungle exhibit (a massive indoor jungle exhibiting different animals) along with the "Desert dome" and numerous other animal exhibits throughout the zoo. An IMAX theater is also located there. If there is only one thing you could see in Omaha, I'd see the zoo. Besides that, depending on the season, you might be able to watch an Omaha Royals AAA game at nearby Roosenblatt Stadium. Otherwise the Old Market has a lot to do with small specialty shops and cafes, a good place just to walk around. The Durham Western Heritage Museum is just south of downtown as well. The Joseyln Art Museum is west of downtown and offers an expansive collection of all sorts of art. A very nice art gallery. Across the city there are numerous shopping districts to visit including Crossroads (72nd and Dodge), Westroads (I-680 and Dodge, usually considered to be the better mall) Oakview on 144th and Center and finally Village Pointe (a bit more upscale shopping way out on West Dodge near Elkhorn). Google some of the place names for better information. An interesting shopping place to visit is Nebraska Furniture Mart near 72nd and Dodge. Its a massive facility which has everything from furniture, decor, electronics, movies and even a Burger King inside. If you're old enough or interested at all, Council Bluffs across the river offers three casinos, one of which has a dog track. If you're coming in on I-80 across Iowa, the Mall of the Bluffs is near the interstate which is a fairly nice mall as well. If you google "Visit Omaha" there are many more museums and interesting places to visit in the city. Enjoy your stay in Nebraska if you decide to come.

I flew alone when I was 5, call the company and im sure you will be fine.

You are old enough to fly alone, but not old enough to make your own arrangements. When you are under 18, an adult parent or guardian needs to make the arrangements for you. It's not as simple as buying a ticket online and going somewhere. If you manage to buy a ticket yourself, you will find you have a problem when you check in. When you check in for your flight, you'll have to show identification - even if you check in at the computerized quick check-in. And if your identification is fake, not federally recognized (i.e. school id), or it clearly states you are under 18, you won't be allowed on the flight. What the 5 year old traveler probably doesn't remember is that when a person under 18 travels alone, there is an adult at the departure gate, with special paperwork, who gives you and the paperwork to the flight attendant who then personally takes you to your seat. For the whole trip that you fly alone you will wear a special identification that states you are a minor traveling alone so that all the flight staff know who you are. You have to wear this identification during the whole flight and are not allowed to remove the identification until the adult at the destination picks you up. At your destination, the flight attendant will ask you to stay seated until the plane is (nearly) empty then personally escort you off the plane and check the identification of the pre-designated adult who should be there waiting to pick you up. The policy is the same at every airline, and there's no way around it.

i don't know what airline you were looking at but you are old enough to travel alone without extra fees on continental and same goes for southwest The following rules are in effect for unaccompanied minor travel: Continental will allow unaccompanied minor travel only on Continental Airlines, Continental Micronesia, Continental Express and Continental Connection flights. Unaccompanied minors under 5 years of age are not accepted. Unaccompanied minors ages 5-7 may only travel on nonstop flights. Unaccompanied minors ages 8-11 may travel on any flight (nonstop or connecting) operated by Continental, Continental Micronesia, Continental Express, or Continental Connection. However, travel will not be allowed on the last connecting flight of the day รข€“ unless the connecting flight is the only published service to that destination. Unaccompanied Minors are not accepted on flights which require an overnight stay in order to make a connection. Children ages 12-17 have the option to pay the fee and use the unaccompanied minor service or they may travel as adults with no unaccompanied minor service provided. Children under the age of 12 traveling alone may not travel on any flights operated by Continental that connect to/from other carriers

About Any suggestions for accomodations in Omaha Nebraska for couple with dog
Any suggestions for accomodations in Omaha Nebraska for couple with dog.?
we are travelling to Omaha Nebraska soon to attend my sons wedding. He has specifically asked that we bring our dog with us, he would like her in the wedding photos. Have researched some motels online that do allow pets but some also only want small pets. Our dog will be 10 months old then & is a golden retiriever so a fairly good sized dog already. She is very quiet & full house trained & very obedient so should pose no problems to other guests. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

CheapAirfare.com, I purchased 2 roundtrip tickets to London, England for $350, with 9/11 airport taxes, it came to $450.00 roundtrip/per person
2 :
I use Expedia or Travelocity. I then try Southwest and Jet Blue since they are not on the above sites. I then compare all of them and choose the best price for my schedule. Good luck on your flights

We are a group of 7 international students from Singapore coming to attend the Berkshire Hathaway AGM on 2-4th May. You can take the Amtraktrain for $64.00 or a Greyhound bus for aslittle as $50.00/ See sites below.
2 :
Amtrak is an interesting ride, but don't plan on it arriving on time.
3 :
The Train and bus suggestions are good. You can drive. It's pretty straight forward until you arrive in Chicago. Interstate 80 (I-80) runs from Omaha, across Iowa to Chicago. It's about 500 miles. Once in the Chicago area, you'll need to take I-57 north to downtown. Unless you want to be somewhere else in Chicago. You'll need a map. The train and bus will take you downtown, from which you can use local subway, taxi, or bus to get to the places you want to see. With a car, you'll have to either pay parking $17-25 a day, or return it to the rental company and use local transportation

What are you going to do in Denver for money once you get there? I once decided to take a chance like that, I went through depression and now have learned that planning is not overrated.

Aquire a good pair of walking shoes.Key word;walking. At 20 to 25 miles a day it shouldn't take you more than a couple of weeks.Carry lots of water!!

well.. hmm.. Why not go greyhound? They are cheap. You could probably get a ticket for less than 100 bucks. Maybe even 50. Or another option is to join the Army, get stationed in Colorado Springs! That is close to denver and you will get money! No more asking for financial favors... YAY ( :

Whatever your comfortable with, if you ask a pro baseball player, they'll tell you, they use the same bat, same brand, sometimes they are so precise as to the same design. Whatever feels right.

Personaly i would go with the 2010 demarini, it has a little more pop to it but not to much where your going to fly out every atbat

I'd put it on VRBO.com. Anyone who is considering a rental will look there. You'd better get it up today. You're pretty late in the game to go after ESPN. They've probably booked their travel 1+ year out. Teams are probably booked in advance by the NCAA.
