How should I pack a raw Rib Roast for Air Travel?
I will be air traveling from Omaha to San Fran with an hr layover, about 7 hrs travel time total. I want to bring a raw rib roast with me, which I plan to check in. How should I pack it?

1 :
Get a small cooler. Place it inside the cooler after wrapping it securely so it won't leak into the cooler. Surround it with ice cubes stored in ziploc bags. These will last for the duration of your flight and the roast will not get ruined. Next SEAL THE COOLER so if any water leaks, it will not come out of the cooler. Finally. pack the cooler in a corrugated box with your name, adress and your DESTINATION ADDRESS on it for identification purposes. I've done this type of thing before with bacon, beef, and other types of cured and raw meats.
2 :
1. Wrap it in heavy duty plastic bag to avoid drip / leaking 2. Buy a small Styrofoam cooler and put the badged roast in with a dry ice pack or other cold pack. 3. Put the small cooler in a heavy duty cardboard box (you can check it. Alternative: Buy a insulated bag ($3 to $5) - Put the badged meat with an ice pack in there. Put it all into a suit case or other baggage. Just ensure that it will not leak blood

About Can I travel four days after my wisdom teeth removal

Can I travel four days after my wisdom teeth removal?
I got my three (I only have 3... 2 impacted and 1 not) wisdom teeth removed on Friday January 2nd and I am supposed to be traveling to Omaha tomorrow, Tuesday January 6th. I took myself off of my pain meds because I do have to drive. But I was wondering if it was okay to travel now that it will have been about 5 days. Do I have anything to worry about from here on out?

I took my sister to get all four of her wisdom teeth pulled and she was ok after 4 days. But in case of infection and what to do you should call the dentist and ask just to be safe.

I believe you need to just be careful for about 2-3 days after having them removed. You don't want to be doing anything strenuous to make it bleed more, and no gargling if you have no stitches. I would think you could travel with no problem

There is an airport in Madera, but it appears to have no scheduled flights, and is more a general aviation airport. If you wish to fly from Omaha to near Madera, your best bet would be to use Fresno. From Omaha, you can connect through Phoenix (using US Airways) or through San Diego (using ExpressJet Airlines) or through Denver (using United Airlines). Not sure what the connection times or flight regularities are like but you could probably try their websites.
2 :
Try searching for flights on www.wiitravel.com or www.findvacationsonline.com, they give an option "nearest airport", so its real easy to find flights.
3 :

1998 Toyota Camry, manual or automatic transmission? 4 or 6 cylinders? Expected fuel economy will differ: http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/bymodel/1998_Toyota_Camry.shtml how well maintained is the vehicle? how much stuff are you carrying (or towing)? What speeds will you be going? How efficiently do you usually drive? What will the road conditions be like (weather, road type)? These are factors that you can somewhat control, and can also make a big difference on your fuel economy. I'll assume that you have a v6 automatic and will drive such that you'll achieve the EPA combined estimate of 20MPG. Your actual driving abilities may differ. I'll also use the US average for regular gasoline for 6/30/2008, at $4.095/gallon. You may find higher or lower prices depending where you stop for gasoline. http://tonto.eia.doe.gov/oog/info/gdu/gasdiesel.asp (You may find more current/local pricing data at http://www.fuelgaugereport.com/ ) http://maps.google.com/ lists a trip from New York, NY to Omaha, NE as 1,241 miles. Your actual route may differ. 1241 miles / 20 miles/gallon = 1241 miles * 1/20 gallons/mile = 62.05 gallons 62.05 gallons * $4.095/gallon = $254.09 You could also figure that out by calculating the cost per mile. 1 gallon of gasoline costs $4.095. at 20 miles/gallon, you can go 1/20 of a mile on 1 gallon of gasoline. $4.095/gallon / 20 miles/gallon = $0.20475/mile. $0.20475/mile * 1241 miles = $254.09. (that's just the cost in gasoline. That doesn't include any costs for wear to the vehicle.)
